Crepes can satisfy all types of cravings – from sweets and sinful ice-cream crepes to healthy vegetable preparations. A crepe can be enjoyed as an appetizer, snack or dessert or as a meal in itself. As an appetizer, one could try the Farm Fresh Crepe with spinach & cottage cheese. As a Snack, crepe is prepared with light fillings such as vegetables, cottage cheese or smoked chicken ham. If you like your sandwiches in thin pancakes instead of the ordinary bread, this could be the dish for you. As a meal, crepe is prepared extra heavy and stuffed to the brim and it is perfect for lunch and dinner.

Studies show that children and adult students who eat breakfast do more and better work in school than those who skip it. In contrast, those who skip breakfast tend to tire more quickly, be more irritable, and react less quickly than those who eat breakfast. Because many of the basic subjects are taught before noon, breakfast is an important meal.

 

  

 

Saving Calories is a common reason  for people to skip breakfast. Don’t skip breakfast, select a breakfast that provides nutrients with the fewest calories. For example, a breakfast with 8 ounces of fat free milk 1 ounce of dry cereal or toast and 6 ounces of fruit juice has fewer than 250 calories. Yet it packs enough energy, proteins, vitamins and minerals to help you avoid mid-morning fatigue and the subsequent urge to eat anything in sight.

In short, a good nutritious breakfast need not include typical breakfast foods, but eating breakfast is a good habit to start your day.

The fourth Earl of Sandwich was Lord of Admiralty from 1748-1751. The Earl was a notorious gambler, running from one pub to another looking for gamblers. These extensive excursions in search of gambling companion left little time for the Earl to eating properly as it befits a Lord of Admiralty instead, he instructed his servants to serve him a slice of roasted meat between two slices of bread; this became famous in 1762 as a novel fashion to eat “on-the-run”. Elisabeth Leslie first mentioned the term sandwich in North America in her cook book published in 1827.

 

Long a staple of Oriental and vegetarian diets, sprouts are nutritious, flavorful and blend extremely well with all kinds of foods. They contain minerals, protein and any of the vitamins essential for a healthy life. Nutritionists have come to realize sprouts are one of the few complete foods. They are rich in vitamin C, as citrus fruits.

Although researchers claim pasta to be a Chinese invention that was brought to Italy by Marco Polo after his famous trip to the Middle Kingdom in the 13th century, there is no doubt that Italian cooks changed it to what we know as the nourishing and versatile food that we know.
